Sangre Berries

Walking in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on a surprisingly warm winter day, I was struck by the afternoon light filtering through the forest. All the trees seemed to glow, and the colors of these berries particularly caught my eye. I painted them with acrylic on 12x 6in gesso board. Being 2in thick, it is sturdy and self-framing.
